About Gamescom 2026 - Opening Night Live and new shinies
I will use this post to put together some thoughts about the trailers that were presented at the Gamescom Opening Night Live, because you can't have too many videogames (yes, you can).

The Witcher 3
I'll start addressing the gryphon in the room. While I enjoyed the books a lot, I never-ever could click with the Witcher 3 game. Now I think I will give it a proper chance coming this September, for the Remastered edition.

Hit the road again, like a king
I'm not going to hide and I will say that between all the games shown, Road Kings is the one that checks all the boxes for me.

Build, survive, iterate
I saw a few interesting iterations of the Build & Survive genre, that I found quite appealing. The first is Gravhounds, which is basically furry Deep Rock Galactic

and the second is Exterminatus

Yo~ho, but with reserve
Puppets style pirates in a RPG with naval battles? Count me in. Unless it will have the same annoying combat mechanics from the Persona series or even worse, from Clair Obscure Expedition 33. In that case, this one will walk the plank.

Of witches and warlocks
Weeeeell, this one captured my attention but I will probably wait and see how it goes. Or wait for it to be released on PS Plus, which will definitely happen. It has Xbox Game Pass and PS Plus names written all over it.

Same applies for this one

The mass effect of Mass Effect
It's not a secret that Exodus was deemed as the real heir of the Mass Effect saga, but will it deliver? Only time will tell. And reviews, lots of reviews.
