Hey everyone!

Steam Next Fest '26 is finally arrived - and for those who chose to live under a rock in the past years, I'm talking about the event by Valve in which lots and lots of demos of games are published and can be tested before the date of release - and I went throught a few games in my wishlist 😁

Let's-a go!

---

## Find the needle

> You were a farmer.
> At least, you think you were.
> Now you're stuck inside a strange warehouse, standing in front of an endless haystack. You don't remember how you got here, who brought you here, or why the doors won't open.
> There is only one instruction:
> Find the needles.

Basically a weird automation/idle game about finding a needle in a haystack; you can automate the search and getting more and more powerful tools (and mo' money!).

Was I able to find the needle though? No.
But I definitely lost a few hours, because I started playing the demo and then was completely caught in the flow. Grab the hay, sell the hay, upgrade the tools, automate the hay-grabbing, automate the selling, upgrade the tools, rinse and repeat.

[Find The Needle on SteamYou have a shovel and a haystack with about six million strands in it. Somewhere inside there’s a needle. Dig it out by hand, sell the hay, then spend the money on belts and machines until you don’t have to dig anymore.![](https://digitalvoodoo.eu/content/images/icon/favicon-d96746a7-b50d-42c2-96e0-a7e03e30a4e6.ico)STEAM![](https://digitalvoodoo.eu/content/images/thumbnail/capsule_616x353-bd752d42-4ebc-4a71-bf05-8613df9b137a.jpg)](https://store.steampowered.com/app/5160800/Find%5FThe%5FNeedle/?inqueue=1%5FeyJuU2FsZVRhZ0lEIjoxNDU4ODYzLCJiRGlzY291bnRzT25seSI6ZmFsc2UsImJQcmlvcml0aXplRGlzY291bnRzIjpmYWxzZX0&ref=digitalvoodoo.eu)

### What I liked

- it's a chill and lovely game to unwind after a long day at work, by, uh, doing more work. Jokes aside, the semi-idle dynamics after the first automations (circa 20 minutes into the demo?) are great;
- it has a mature content warning, apparently you can enable rude gesture emotes;
- reminds me of Satisfactory;
- extreme freedom in the building part, making it possible to unleash your fantasy (and thus making it a dream or a complete nightmare)

### What I didn't like

- no co-op;
- machinery settings are a bit janky/incomplete;

## So?

I'm probably going to get this game and find those goddamn needles!
